Welcome to Writers' Village University. We're working hard to be the best online writers group we can. The number one ingredient to our success is our members, the friendliest, most helpful writers on the planet!

Writers' Village University (WVU) currently offers over 200 courses free to  members and is growing!  Our courses consist of a combination of classes, seminars, workshops and writing programs in both facilitator-led and peer-guided settings.

We have the following departments:

• The General Business of Writing:  A diversity of basic skill review and motivational courses provides the student with fundamental writing resources.
• Comedy Writing: Comedy writing is serious business as these courses help the writer learn how to best apply humor to their writing.
• Fiction and Screenwriting:  A wide variety of courses is available in the area of fiction writing, including character development, dialogue, setting, structure, screenwriting, and many more.
• Literature Studies and Reading Groups:  These seminars give the student the opportunity to study many famous works.  Seminars are set up by author, culture and genre as well as a "banned books" series.
• Non-Fiction, Journalism and Business Writing:  These courses focus on the many different types of non-fiction writing.
• Poetry:  A series of courses for the poetically inclined.

Our dedicated volunteer staff takes great pride in the building of Writopia;  you can see the fruits of their efforts wherever you look.
