BUSINESS 109 [M] [1] [2] [3] [4] - Classroom A - Classroom B

Lesson 1: Limiting Our Own Possibilities

When it comes to sabotage, we can be our own worst enemy. There are times when we may feel we don't deserve anything good to happen to us, and when it does, well, we might say, 'of all the amazing luck.' However, Julia says there is more than luck at work here whether we want to accept that or not. So are you self-destructive? The immediate answer is no. But, do you put your needs before others, or are you generous to the point that you come last? Growing up, we're always told, 'don't be selfish,' and told this so often that it follows us to adulthood. You may be working on a chapter of your novel, completely oblivious to the rest of the world around you, but all it takes is, 'Mom, where's supper?' 'Hon, I'm home. You still on the computer?' So what happens? We feel we've been selfish; others need us. Our creativity takes a back seat; we let our loved ones know we're so nice and it's their needs that are important to us. Would you call this another creative block?
